The CS110 Electric Field Meter measures the vertical component of the atmospheric electric field at the earth's surface. These atmospheric electric field measurements are useful for assessing the local lightning hazard and for thunderstorm research. The CS110 uses a reciprocating shutter instead of the traditional rotating vane field mill - a feature that improves reliability and reduces power consumption. The CS110 can be integrated into an automated weather station to provide a full range of meteorological measurements, data storage, communication, and control.

Campbell Scientific offer the CS110 Electric field meter which is widely used in studies of the local electric field and in lightning warning systems. An integrated Campbell Scientific data logger means measurement and control capabilities can be extended to allow additional sensors for wind speed/direction, temperature and RH probes, solar radiation and precipitation to be connected or for the unit to control external alarms and communicate with remote base station via radio, satellite, phone, or network connections.
